Color Run - Twin Falls
Imagine this: You're jogging along a beautiful, well manicured path next to your best friend, panting as you both giggle at the sight of the people in front of you wearing all white clothing when all of a sudden a puff of colored chalk is thrown in your direction and you have nowhere to go but through the middle of it...Welcome to the 5k Color Run.
The exciting, messy Color Run is the new hot thing this year and I got to experience one first hand at the College of Southern Idaho. The starting ribbon was lined with people young and old wearing all white, tutus, wigs and more.
Although the CSI 5k Color Run wasn't timed and a was non-competitive walk/run it drew about 600 people to it's starting line. The CSI Color run had 4 stations, each one boasting staff equipped with buckets full of food-grade colored powder in a variety of colors. The route was well marked with arrows and colored footprints from the leaders. With the finish line in sight there was yet another station of powder bearing attackers ready to coat you with your final color to complete your newly painted rainbow shirt.
Each participant received a shirt, which was white at the beginning of the race, plenty of water and free Jamba Juice! Bags of the food-grade powder was handed out at the end for a powder shower.
