Morrison Performing Arts Center - BSU Boise, Idaho

The Morrison Center on the Boise State University campus is one of Idaho's largest performing arts centers. It is the home of the Boise State Music Department and the Boise State Theater Department as well as hosting shows from Broadway in Boise, the Boise Philharmonic Association and many more. This Boise State affiliate is a non-profit organization that is funded by ticket sales, facility rentals, donations and generous support from the Morrison Center Endowment Foundation.
The last show that we saw at the Morrison Center was in January. The Broadway in Boise presented "Rock of Ages - The Musical". We were very pleasantly surprised by the parking at Boise State University, how close it was to the Morrison Center and the amount of staff helping direct traffic. With parking being a breeze we walked into the center with plenty of time to find our seats and look around. The Morrison Center has 2,037 seats and nearly every one of those seats were filled by fans young and old. The foyer was filled with memorabilia stands, wine and fine foods and staff to help you find your way.
The Rock of Ages musical had an amazing, interactive set and a lively cast. The entire performance was top notch from the 80s attire to the raunchy dancing roadies. The audience was involved and it was nearly impossible to not sing out loud.
For an updated list of upcoming events at the Morrison Center just visit the website or check out their Facebook page for the most current scheduled events. Remember that they are always adding new events to the calendar so check back regularly. The 2013-2014 Broadway in Boise season shows are listed on the website and feature great musicals including Chicago, Memphis, Wicked, Hello Dolly and even the Addams Family! We hope the Morrison Center will continue to provide a venue for great performers for many years to come!
